Treasure by the Bay: The Historic Architecture of Sandusky, Ohio (Western Reserve Historical Society Publication, No. 169)
Published in Hardcover by Western Reserve Historical (January, 1989)
Author: Ellie Damm
Average review score:

Learning about Sandusky, Ohio's historic architecture
This book is easy to read and it is fun to review all the old photos of buildings (some of which no longer exist). Most of the buildings are familiar to those of us who live in Sandusky or visit regularly. After reading this book, you will find out the little known facts of the buildings that are so familiar. I would recommend this book to any age. It is a great way to learn how interesting Sandusky, Ohio is. I learned after reading this book that it has one of the largest collction of limestone buildings in Ohio, crayons were invented here, and it was part of the "underground railroad", which aided slaves in their quest for freedom.

Uneasy Spirits: Ghost Stories & Haunted Places of Clermont County, Ohio
Published in Library Binding by Rhiannon Pubns (September, 1997)
Author: Richard Crawford
Average review score:

Very good book for ghost story lovers!
This book is very interesting and well written. It has pictures which is a good plus. The thing that makes this a good, spooky book is that the stories are local. They are stories that could be similiar right in your own home town. What also makes it a good book is that it was written by someone who lives in the area where the stories take place and he is also the county historian, so the stories come pretty much straight from the source. This is a great book I very much reccomend it.

Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island
Published in Paperback by Orange Frazer Pr (April, 2003)
Author: Charles Infosino
Average review score:

Finally, a book about Paramount's Kings Island!
First off, let me tell you that the name of the book is The Unofficial (not a Visitor's) Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. And it is a fantastic book, even better than The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World because:

1. It was endorsed by the park.
2. It has pictures given by the park.
3, It has the official park map.

The unofficial Disney books don't have those 3 things. My wife and I visit Paramount's Kings Island with our 3 kids twice a year and can never seem to do what we want. The park is 364 acres big and has way too many rides and attactions. This book broke everything down for us. It has chapters on lodging, dining in and out of the park, shows, rides and even shopping. Plus there's a history chapter that I found educational.

My wife and I are taking a trip to Kings Island this weekend and while we wait on line with our impatient little ones, we'll read this book. It taught us a lot about Kings Island and even provided logistical tour plans for folks like us and folks without rugrats. My hat goes off to the author! ..., this was a bargain and a great souvenir.

Vasuclar Plants of Ohio: A Manual for Use in Field and Laboratory
Published in Paperback by Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company (June, 1971)
Author: Clara G. Weishaupt
Average review score:

essential taxonomic key for ohio field botanists
despite the publishing date, this is still a basic reference for the field botanist working in Ohio. It is also accessible to the knowledgeable amateur. It is compact and easy to carry into the field. For amateur's interested in wildflowers, use in conjunction with Newcomb's Wildflower guide, since there are no photo's or pictures.

Vatican Treasures: Early Christian, Renaissance, and Baroque Art from the Papal Collections
Published in Paperback by Cleveland Museum of Art (June, 1998)
Authors: Robert P. Bergman, Diane Degrazia, Stephen N. Fliegel, Catholic Church Diocese of Cleveland (Ohio), and Cleveland Museum of Art
Average review score:

The Majesty of the Papal Collection
Being someone not of the catholic faith, at first i was driven from anything with the word "Pope" on it, but those religious inhibitions were shortly erased when I saw thise book! i had no idea the vatican contained such spectacular works of art, and from periods which i adore such as the Boroque! The collection is not just a few alter pieces from Byzantium, but rather is a study of art itself and a study in the masterpieces of the periods in its history. This book is incredibly inspirational, i would recomend it to anyone! even someone who doesnt like art! this fabulous volume is worth every penny one pays for it, and is one of the great finds of my endless book collecting

A Very Special Mother
Published in Hardcover by Vantage Press (May, 1996)
Author: Jerry Ann Parlin Wronker
Average review score:

A quick read about the growing up of a family in Ohio.
This is a charming book and serves to remind us all about our families and the experiences we had growing up. Children today might take a moment to read this and reflect on their own day-to-day experiences. Too often today we forget and take too many things for granted. I enjoyed reading this book

Average review score:

Detailed and helpful
Not only is this book no doubt written by someone who is knowledgeable about the northeastern Ohio area and its history, but also it is very readable--yet detailed. Gave me numerous ideas on where to go. Very helpful; gave distance and estimated time of each hike, along with map.
